Aerial Creation and Development

WITH SHANNON GRAY COLLIER

Vol. 1 FRIDAY, DEC 21ST, 6:OO- 8:00 PM

Vol. 2 SATURDAY, DEC 22ND, 2:3O- 4:30 PM

Vol 1. Friday, Dec. 21st, 6:OO- 8:00 PM

This workshop is designed to engage students with all levels of the creative process. We begin by exploring the source of creativity and expression through release-based movement, impulse, and the emotional/physical connection. We will examine concepts like intent, obstacles, purpose, and what it means to be in a state of “being moved”. All of these explorations revolve around movement quality, presence, and the discovery of new and inspiring aerial choreography- creating work that is both authentic and impactful.

Vol. 2 Saturday, Dec 22nd, 2:3O- 4:30 PM

The second portion of this workshop engages the students more directly with either pre-existing work, or with the development of new sequences and aerial content. We will find ways of bringing to live all aspects of choreography- finding voice and power in even the simplest of movements. Students will also be examining their relationship to music and musicality, finding a meaningful relationship between body, apparatus, and sound.

It is strongly recommended to attend both classes. Concepts in each class will build on one another. Students will get more out of the second class if they come to the prior workshop.

THERE ARE ONLY 6 SPOTS AVAILABLE FOR THIS WORKSHOP. RESERVE YOUR SPOT BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE!

SINGLE PASS: $50 DUAL PASS $90
